Morris Bay and Curtain Bluff

For swimming off the beach the sandy shore shelves gently and the water is clear blue and calm, sheltered by Cades Reef.

Morris Bay offers a secure anchorage for large yachts but as is typical of the west coast, shoaling prevents yachts lying close to the shore.

Just south around the rocky "bluff" is the other side of the resort with another palm lined beach. If the wind is south of east here, it is a swell affected anchorage and the weedy bottom means that holding is poor. The shore enjoys a bit more of a bubbly surf.

Buses run to Jolly Harbour regularly on the main road.

Adjacent to the Curtain Bluff Resort, Morris Bay beach is flanked by palm trees and a natural pond in the Old Road area on the western side of Antigua.

The long sandy beach runs into one side of the resort and there are a few fishing boats that anchor here just off the shore.
