Long Island

The only anchorage here is at Jumby Bay which offers a sandy bottom, shoaling towards the shore. Up to 100 feet from shore there is room for a boat drawing eight feet.

Jumby Bay Island is a model of sustainability, it is the largest recycler of bottles, cans and golf cart batteries on Antigua and operates several initiatives to preserve the local environment, including the Hawksbill Turtle Project, which has been running for the past 25 years.

All private residences and the resort have sun powered water heating and the island boasts a waterfowl sanctuary along with a farm.

There are no cars allowed on the island and residents and guests share the rolling pastures with a flock of black headed persian sheep.

Long Island is a privately owned 300 acre island just northwest of North Sound. It is home to the exclusive Jumby Bay Resort.

The hotel facilities are for hotel guests only but the restaurant is open to the public. A ferry runs from Dutchman's Bay on Antigua.
